Items worth €300 to €1,500. Includes an extended report with the technical reasons for the conclusion.
Historical and high value

Over €1,500, historical documents, militaria and long manuscripts. Fixed quote.
Insured return shipping is paid by the client. The shipping address is provided privately once you accept the quote.
I examine high-quality photographs of the item and issue a digital certificate with a verifiable number.

*Limited scope. Without the item in hand it is not possible to examine pen pressure, indentations, ink or the support, and an image can hide decisive details. The digital certificate therefore expresses a technical opinion on the images examined, with the degree of certainty they allow.
Preliminary assessment from photographs: €25 per item, deducted from the price of the certificate (example: Standard digital, €25 + €50 = €75). Collections and lots: −15% from 5 items and −25% from 10. Express service, subject to availability: +50%. Prices include VAT. All prices in euros.

Which rate applies to me?
The rate depends on the estimated value of the item and the complexity of the examination. If you don't know what it is worth, that's fine: I'll tell you which rate applies in the preliminary assessment.
- Standard: items up to €300, such as autographs of current sportspeople or artists.
- Premium: €300 to €1,500, with an extended report explaining the technical reasons.
- Historical and high value: over €1,500, 19th- and 20th-century documents, militaria and long manuscripts, which require finding period reference signatures.

Pricing questions
What is the difference between the digital certificate and the physical + digital certificate?
The physical + digital option includes examination of the original item in my studio and a printed certificate with security features, in addition to the digital version. The digital certificate is based on photographs only: it is more affordable, but its scope is limited, because without the original it is not possible to examine pen pressure, ink or the support.
Do you charge if the signature is not authentic?
The preliminary assessment from photographs costs €25 and is deducted from the price of the certificate. The fee pays for the expert examination; it does not guarantee a certificate. If the signature does not clearly pass the examination, no certificate is issued and I explain the reasons in writing.
Do you offer discounts to dealers and auction houses?
Yes. For regular volumes I prepare a tailored professional rate.
How do I pay?
By bank transfer or PayPal. You receive the payment details when you accept the quote. The fee pays for the examination: if the signature does not pass the analysis, no certificate is issued.
